The Price of a Soft Heart with a Steel Spine

The vital miscalculation people make?

Mistaking kind souls for weak ones.

Let me be the one to tell you—kindness is no damn weakness. The script can flip at the drop of a dime… and once it does, it rarely flips back.

The funny thing?

The world preaches goodness—be kind, do right, give freely. But when some of us actually live that truth, what happens?

We are exploited, stepped on and drained dry. Used up and spat out as though we never mattered.

But here’s the part they never see: kind souls don’t break—we rise. Once we remove ourselves from the situation, we stand taller, stronger and wiser than before.

When navigating this world with a blissful heart that gives without greed, loves without limits and helps without hidden motives, we walk in a strength most people will never understand.

They think they’re taking advantage and that we have no clue and are powerless. But the truth? We only relinquished our power because we had no faith in ourselves as we drowned in the pain that swallowed us whole. Even then, we continued giving from a place of love that we could never seem to find for ourselves—yet somehow, we had an endless supply for others—not out of a dark hollowness, but from the goodness that was always within from the power of His unconditional love.

And those who mistake selflessness for gullibility while taking our generosity for granted without ever pouring back into us?

Well, once we embrace our steel spine, the script has officially flipped—we landed on self-love and the peace we worked so hard to cultivate. That’s when “they” will learn the hard way—because we will no longer be by their side.

Here is to staying kind in a cutthroat world that loves to drown the light of His flock and into the depths of their darkness.
